Deleting your FitRealm account
You can delete your FitRealm account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone's permission. This page explains exactly what that removes — written so you can check before you install, or after you have already uninstalled.
How to delete your account
In the app: Settings, then Account & security, then Delete account.
You will be asked to type the word DELETE and, if you sign in with an email address and password, to enter that password again. A final confirmation dialog follows. If you sign in with Google and have not signed in within the last ten minutes, you are also asked to choose your Google account again — so a phone left unlocked, or a sign-in someone else got hold of, cannot delete your account. Nothing is touched until you have passed every step.
Deletion then runs immediately. There is no grace period, no queue and no recovery — once it has run, your account is gone and we cannot bring it back.
If you cannot get into the app
If you have uninstalled FitRealm, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email privacy@fit-realm.app from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will check that the request really comes from the account holder before acting, and we act without undue delay — at the latest inside the one month the GDPR allows.
Export your data first, if you want a copy
Deletion takes your data with it, so export it beforehand if you want to keep it: Settings, then Account & security, then Download your data. That gives you a complete JSON file of everything you have logged. It is not available afterwards.
What deletion removes
- Your profile, avatar, progress photos and post photos
- Your reminder, quiet-hours and workout settings
- Your injuries, and the answer you gave when we asked whether to store them
- Every workout with its sets, reps and weights, and your plans, PRs and saved templates
- Weight, water, sleep, food, cardio and step logs, body measurements and saved meals
- XP, level, streak, quests, Challenge Week results, cosmetics and subscription status
- Posts, comments, likes and chat messages
- Follows, follow requests, blocks and community memberships
- Your place at every event you joined, and the invites you sent or received
- Location sharing and the rounded position it shared
- The problem reports, gym reports and exercise suggestions you sent, with their screenshots
- The photos of every product you added, and any product we had not checked yet
- App integrity check results
Files come first. Everything you uploaded — your avatar, post photos, progress photos and feedback screenshots — is removed from file storage, and the account itself is deleted only once none is left. Every record in our database is tied to your account and goes with it.
If a file cannot be removed, the deletion stops there and your account stays. The app tells you so — including whether any of your photos were already removed — and you can simply try again to finish.
What is not erased
A few things outlive the account. None of them stays attached to you.
If another athlete reported you for breaking the Community Guidelines, that report outlives your account — but the link to you does not. The field naming the reported person is emptied, which leaves a moderation record no longer attached to anybody. This exists so that a pattern of abuse cannot be wiped simply by deleting an account and registering again.
A report you filed works the same way, and for the same reason. Your name comes off it and the report stays until it has been dealt with. Nobody can take back a report by closing their account, so reporting someone and then leaving still gets the thing you reported read.
In a chat, the messages you sent are deleted. The people you talked to keep the messages they sent, and your name in those chats becomes "Deleted athlete". Their half of a conversation was never yours to delete.
A community you created carries on without you. It is handed to one of its moderators, or to its longest-standing member if it has none, and it closes only if nobody is left in it. Your membership goes with your account; the posts, comments and events other people put in it are theirs, and deleting your account must not take them. An event you are hosting stays for the people who joined it, with your name removed — they had already planned around it, and cancelling it on them is not something your account deletion should do.
If you added a packaged product and we checked it, that product stays in the food library. Your name comes off it, so nothing says who added it. It stays because it belongs to everyone who scans that barcode now — taking it out would ask the next person to photograph the same label again. A product we had not checked yet is not in the library, so it goes with your account, and so do all three photos in every case.
Our Privacy Policy says how long those anonymised records are kept.
Backups
We keep no long-term backups of deleted accounts. Our hosting provider may hold short-lived disaster-recovery copies for a limited period before they roll off, as described in our Privacy Policy.
